About Me

Dr. Lisa Hall-Hyman began her career as an alternative education teacher, where she discovered her passion for working with diverse learners and meeting the unique challenges of nontraditional educational settings. Coming from a family of educators, she grew up with a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education and its ability to create meaningful change in the lives of individuals and communities.

Her father, a veteran retired officer in the U.S. Army, taught trigonometry prior to his military service, instilling in her the value of discipline and the importance of a strong educational foundation. Her mother, a retired algebra teacher and school administrator, demonstrated the profound impact that passionate, skilled educators can have on students and schools.
This strong belief in the impact of education inspired Dr. Hall-Hyman to dedicate her career to supporting educators and advancing teacher quality. Her passion led her to establish Hyman Educational Associates, LLC, a consultancy focused on providing support to alternative educators in the field. Through her LLC, she specializes in praxis preparation, program accreditation, and instructional coaching, with an emphasis on building capacity for teacher leadership and improving classroom outcomes.
With over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher, public school administrator, and tenured college associate professor, Dr. Hall-Hyman has made it her mission to empower educators and equip them with the tools needed to succeed in a variety of teaching environments. Her work continues to make a lasting impact on the education community, particularly in South Carolina, where she currently serves as the Coaching Coordinator for the Carolina Collaborative for Alternative Preparation (CarolinaCAP) at the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Hall-Hyman’s dedication to education stems from her belief that teachers are the foundation of change, and her career is a testament to her commitment to improving education for all learners.
